Building the Future: The HUDCO x NBCC Urban Partnership

In a significant move to advance urban redevelopment and optimise land assets, Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) and NBCC (India) Limited have entered into two strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to jointly undertake large-scale redevelopment and monetisation projects.

The partnership brings together HUDCO’s financial capabilities and NBCC’s project execution expertise, with the aim of unlocking value from prime urban land parcels while promoting sustainable and self-sustaining development models.

Under the first MoU, the two organisations will collaborate on redeveloping an 18,830 sq. metre leasehold plot at August Kranti Bhawan in Bhikaji Cama Place, South Delhi. The project will begin with detailed techno-economic feasibility studies to determine the most efficient land use. NBCC will serve as the project management agency, handling execution and construction, while monetisation strategies will be designed to maximise returns from the redeveloped asset.

The second MoU establishes a broader framework for cooperation on NBCC’s self-sustainable development projects. Subject to approval from the Government of India, HUDCO will extend financial support for both ongoing and upcoming projects, while NBCC will act as the project management consultant to ensure quality execution and timely delivery.

This collaboration is expected to create strong synergies, enabling HUDCO to invest in high-value urban infrastructure while providing NBCC with structured funding to accelerate its project pipeline. Together, the two public sector undertakings are set to play a pivotal role in reshaping parts of New Delhi’s commercial and urban landscape through redevelopment-led growth.
